Engaged in current and breaking artistic enquiry, l’Œil de Poisson (Fish eyes) is actively committed to topical issues within contemporary art, the centre encompasses a full spectrum of visual arts and features a professional infrastructure able to respond to the varied interests of its members and the community.
Highly involved in multimedia and inter/multidisciplinarity, the centre promotes experimental art and breakthrough practices, thereby stimulating transfers and mergers between disciplines. Part of Méduse — a complex housing 10 production and/or exhibition venues — l’Œil de Poisson offers artists and the public an outstanding location for exchange, generating the type of energy that is essential to creative development.
COMMITTED PRODUCER AND EXHIBITOR
The preeminent feature of l’Œil de Poisson’s mandate remains its commitment to its immediate cultural environment.
Simultaneously engaged in exhibition and production, the centre seeks to respond to the multiple concerns and avenues of contemporary art through widely diverse activities in its gallery and its production workshops.
Whether through exhibitions; the production or presentation of live events; collaborative projects involving in-house production facilities; artist residencies; local, provincial, national or international exchanges; and publishing, the centre relies on multiple fields of interest to bear witness to the practices and investigations of art being made here, now.
The centre encourages unusual and contextual exhibitions, first-run multidisciplinary projects or events, and original enquiry.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
3 MONTHS RESIDENCY WITH EXHIBITION
DEADLINE : February 1st, 2012
L’Œil de Poisson, contemporary art gallery and production center in Quebec ity (Canada), is offering an artist the chance to present his or her work in its main gallery, following an in-house research and production residency.
Highly involved in multimedia and inter/multidisciplinarity, the centre promotes experimental art and breakthrough practices. The residency will take place over a three-month period in the centre’s workshops. It is designed for artists who require the use of our wood and/or metal shops for the entire three-month period. While developing the project, the artist will have access to the center’s equipment, as well as to vast common spaces where many artists from the Quebec City region work under the guidance of professional technicians.
The chosen artist will be provided with accommodations and a per diem for the entire period, which extends from October 22nd, 2012 to January 14th, 2013. The artist will be housed in one of the units of Méduse, a cooperative of centres working in visual, media and multidisciplinary arts. The artist will pay for his travel.
